The pallu is where the colour arrives. A cream border scene is appliquéd along the edge, showing ladies seated in a garden pavilion, peacocks in full plume and banana palms in teal and green. Hand embroidery and tiny sequins outline each figure and leaf, lifting the scene off the fabric. The Bemberg crepe is smooth and fluid, and it falls in soft, graceful folds.
